Greetings of the Season everyone! We have been fly fishing the Watauga and South Holston rivers, when the when the generators are not running. The trout fishing has been great this fall. We have also been floating the high water and the trout fishing has only been fair when TVA is generating. Remeber, this is the time of year when most of the trophy sized trout are taken on the fly! There are black caddisflies, midges and some blue winged olives hatching on Watauga River, and midges and blue-winged olives hatching on the South Holston River. If you go and fish the South Holston River, remember that there are sections that are closed for spawning trout. East Tennessee Fly Fishing will be available for guide trips all winter long. We will keep you updated on the Tennessee Trout Fishing, which should be good all winter long on the Watauga and South Holston rivers. The small streams in the area fishing well There are also some trophy sized Rainbow Trout to be caught on the Nolichucky River during the winter.
