fly fishing float trip

After a couple of weeks off, a fishing trip to the coast, a lot of rain, and rescheduled trips; we are guiding as much as the rain will let us.

The Watauga has cleared enough to fish. On a recent half-day trip, we caught over 30 trout. The boat ramp is open at the double bridges, in Watauga again. There are yellow mayflies, some BWOs,black caddis, craneflies, and midges hatching. The trout are eating terrestrials on both the Watauga and South Holston rivers.

The small streams are doing great when they are clear. The South Holston has been running water a lot, so you need a boat to fish it. There have been some great sulphur hatches, the past few weeks. We are all hoping for some drier weather. This fall should be great, and we still have dates open.

I will be guiding right into the winter. There will be some big trout landed from now through the end of the year. So give us a call and we will get you out on the best fly fishing trip in TN.
