Hello,
hope everyone has had some time to do some fly fishing. It is time for
a new fishing report again.
The small streams here in Elizabethton are fishing great.
The creeks are full of mayflies, caddis and stoneflies in the afternoons.
Water levels are also great so far this year.
The Watauga River has been good or slow depending
on the day. The caddis are begining to hatch. With the warmer weather
that has arrived, I would expect some nice hatches to start any day now.
The trout in the trophy section are fat and healthy this year. We have
caught some nice browns and rainbows, already.
The South Holston River has been fishing great,
with some nice brown and rainbow trout being caught. There are midges,
blue quills, blue winged olives, caddis, and a few Hendricksons hatching
on the South Holston.
We are getting booked up, so call or email us if you
have a date in mind, so we can get you on the calendar. I will let everyone
know how things are going as it warms up. With the arrival of the hatches,
the trout should start feeding heavily.
Don't forget that East Tennessee Fly Fishing
is now offering shuttle services for the Watauga and
South Holston rivers.
